Cardiff Half Marathon was nothing short of spectacular. With over 29,000 runners flooding the streets of the Welsh capital, the city came alive with lots of energy and community spirit. The atmosphere was electric, with thousands of spectators and volunteers lining the course to support every stride.
What Is the Cardiff Half Marathon?
Now in its 22nd year, the Cardiff Half Marathon has grown into one of Wales’s largest mass participation events, and one of Europe’s super half marathons. The scenic 13.1-mile route showcases some of Cardiff’s iconic landmarks including Cardiff Castle, the Principality Stadium, and the Wales Millennium Centre. This year marked a special milestone for Velindre, as we proudly joined the event with our first ever official charity spaces.

“We were honoured to have 180 incredible individuals running for Velindre this year.
We are so proud of each and every runner who joined #TeamVelindre in representing our Hospital of Hope. They took on a mammoth challenge all in the name of charity and in doing so have raised an absolutely phenomenal amount of over £60,000.
These funds will make such a significant impact to so many cancer patients and families at Velindre, and for that we will be forever grateful.“
