Join Velindre’s new sponsored walk along the stunning Llanelli Coastal Path, where beautiful sea views and fresh coastal air set the scene.
Enjoy an easy, relaxing 5km walk, open to all ages and abilites. Or, for the more experienced trekker, choose the challenging half marathon 21km route: a distance that makes a huge difference.
Every step our walkers will take along the stunning Llanelli Coastal Path helps raise vital funds for Velindre – the Hospital of Hope. Your fundraising allows us to continue making a difference to patients and families across Wales.
How we support you
- You will receive dedicated fundraising support and resources from the Charity Team
- A Digital Event Pack, including full registration information and event itinerary
- A ‘Walking For’ bib which can be collected on the day
- A Free and Bespoke Victory Over Cancer Medal
- Water stations along the route, kindly provided by our event sponsor, Brecon Carreg
- Finish-line refreshments
Did you know? This is Velindre’s first half marathon trek distance in the UK!
If you choose the 21km walking distance, you’ll have walked a half marathon for Velindre.
This distance is a perfect training walk for our overseas treks – like our upcoming Ourika Valley, Morocco trek in 2027! If you’re interested in taking on that challenge as well, click the link below.
The power of your support
Your contribution through registration and sponsorship would contribute to:
Provide families with soft lion teddies for children, additional support and comfort to families experiencing a cancer diagnosis.
Provide patients with a 1-hour specialist counselling session, providing one-to-one wellbeing support for patients exactly when they need it.
Provide complementary therapy sessions that alleviate anxiety, cancer symptoms and treatment side effects for patients.
Collectively, donations raised through the Victory Over Cancer Wallk can directly contribute to one of the 40+ clinical trials active at Velindre today.
