Wear Red for Wales and Velindre! Sign up your School!
Cancer will affect one in two people born after 1960 and it’s a simple statistic that drives home the battle we face against this terrible disease. I am writing to ask for your support.
Velindre Cancer Centre’s aim is for every pupil, in every school in Wales, to wear red for Wales and Velindre on Friday 2nd February 2018, on the eve of Wales’s first RBS Six Nations game against Scotland at the Principality Stadium. For this day only Velindre will change from its traditional green colour to red in support of the Wales rugby team.
Our last Wear Red for Wales and Velindre Campaign brought in over £20,000 with just 53 schools, so with the help of your school and others, the sky is the limit on just how much money we can raise for Cancer patients and their families in Wales.
Together, we can achieve Victory over Cancer!
Taking part couldn’t be easier, Simply ask your pupils and staff to wear something red on this day and donate a minimum of £1 to Velindre.
And you don’t have to just wear red, you could hold a red event or activity such as a red cake sale or a red raffle and we can provide you with materials you will need for a successful fundraiser, such as posters, stickers and balloons. Once we have received your completed event registration form, your exciting fundraising pack will follow.
If you are unable to wear red clothing or if your uniform is already red, we have special Wear Red Wristbands for people to show their support, prices at £1 each.
As well as the money you will raise from taking part, the publicity you will attract is also very important for us as we want as many people as possible to see your amazing fundraising efforts. Please share your photographs, posts and video’s on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, tagging us in, so everybody can see what an amazing thing you’re doing for Velindre! And be as creative as possible with your photographs and videos as the best ones will be featured in the media and on materials for next year’s campaign!

I hope we can rely on your support and look forward to hearing from you.
