Vice President of Velindre Cancer Centre

A former headteacher is now one of Wales' best known broadcasters and Roy’s daily radio programme has attained some of the highest listening figures in Wales for a number of years.

In 1999 Roy received a prestigious Sony Award which has helped to cement his place as one of Wales’s most popular broadcasters. Roy is also well known for his television work and has presented a number of shows on covering a wide range of topics.

 

His popular series Common Ground gained Roy the Regional Presenter of the Year Award at the 2000 Royal Television Awards.

Roy is constantly in demand as an after dinner speaker or conference host at many organsiations, and these have included engagements in Canada, Hong Kong and dubai. 
In 2001 Roy was awarded an OBE for his charity work.

 

We are very fortunate at Velindre Cancer Centre to have had Roy as our Vice President for many years now, and everyone at Velindre is extremely grateful for his continued support.
