A sporting legend! Born in Trimsaran, Jonathan has had a magnificent rugby career in both codes. After just 35 games for Neath Jonathan was selected for Wales and gave a man of the match performance on a winning debut.

After winning a Triple Crown and 37 caps Jonathan moved to rugby league and Widnes. Appearances for Great Britain followed, as did the Man of Steel Award.

Since retiring from rugby, Jonathan’s cross code knowledge and bubbly personality have made him an integral part of BBC’s coverage.

Since 2004 S4C have broadcast a rugby themed chat show called Jonathan, prior to international matches. In 1996 Jonathan was awarded an MBE.
